As part of our experienced in-house design and editorial team, you'll work with world-leading designers, photographers, illustrators, writers, journalists and broadcasters to create an extensive portfolio of stamp products that will be admired and collected by millions of people for generations to come. The Special Stamp products range from the highly collectible First Day Cover to the more specialist annual Yearbook that contains an entire year's collection plus the story behind the stamp design and stamp subject matter.
You'll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the editorial and factual content of Special Stamp products. It will be up to you to commission external writers and contributors to aid the development of that content, while also contributing to third-party intellectual property rights and copyright negotiations.
To this end, you'll need to be an experienced editor with a proven track record of copy-editing and managing editorial processes within a reputable magazine, periodical or publishing house.
Furthermore, it is essential that you have strong budget-management skills and are educated to degree level with an understanding of Quark Xpress, InDesign and Microsoft Word, plus knowledge of specialist data sources and research techniques.

About The Role
Would you like to work for the UK's only dedicated sportsbike magazine? We are currently looking for a Deputy Editor to join Fast Bikes, an established, well respected and strong performing magazine within Future Publishing's portfolio.
As Deputy Editor you will use your passion for sportsbikes and your understanding of the magazine's strategic goals, direction and positioning in the market to develop and deliver exhilarating editorial content, and execute the vision established by the Editor and publishing team. You will devise, organise and write road tests and features along with subbing content for the magazine. You will help to manage and develop the team as well as deputising for the Editor in his absence.
You will be required to represent the magazine at riding launches and other press events internationally. There will also be some weekend and out of hours working to attend events and ensure the magazine hits it deadlines.
About You
To secure this fantastic opportunity you will have proven journalistic skills, drive and creative flair combined with excellent magazine craft. You will also have proven subbing ability and experience in people management. Ideally you will be commercially minded and self motivated with the ability to work well under pressure.
You will have a strong interest in sportsbikes, hold a full unrestricted motorcycle licence and have a high level of riding ability.
